Colorado Springs: Dublin Boulevard reopens between Fieler Drive, Issaquah Drive

Trending...
~ Dublin Boulevard has officially reopened to the public after a three-month closure between Fieler Drive and Issaquah Drive. The Dublin Boulevard Improvement project, aimed at enhancing safety, mobility, and connectivity for all users while supporting the community's long-term transportation needs, was originally scheduled to be completed in fall 2026. However, due to an accelerated timeline, the project is now expected to be finished by spring.

The shortened construction schedule can be attributed to the road closure which shaved off more than four months from the original timeline. While the road is now open for use, phased construction will continue between Mustang Rim Drive and Marksheffel Road. Drivers should anticipate traffic shifts and lane closures on Dublin Boulevard this fall.

According to project officials, finishing work is currently underway between Fieler Drive and Mustang Rim Drive. This includes completing new sidewalks which may result in sidewalk closures and detours for pedestrians. The final layer of asphalt and permanent lane striping will also be placed on Dublin Boulevard once all road work is complete east of Issaquah Drive.

During the full closure period, several significant accomplishments were achieved by the project team. These include completing water mitigation for an underground spring west of Peterson Road to address recurring issues of water and ice on the road, improving Dublin Boulevard to two lanes in each direction with turn lanes from Fieler Drive to east of Mustang Rim Drive, reconstructing the intersection of Dublin Boulevard and Peterson Road, building over 90% of the project's storm sewer system, finishing nearly all water line relocation work for the entire project, and accelerating road reconstruction between Mustang Rim Drive and Issaquah Drive.

With Dublin Boulevard now open for use, motorists should take note that Issaquah Drive north of Dublin Boulevard will be closed for approximately three weeks for trench and road work. However, Mustang Rim Drive remains open at Dublin Boulevard providing direct access to the Renaissance at Indigo Ranch community. It also serves as an alternate route to nearby businesses in case the primary access is missed. Issaquah Drive south of Dublin Boulevard will not be impacted by this work.
