~ On the early morning of September 2, 2025, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call for assistance regarding a traffic accident on Rampart Range Road. The incident occurred around 12:20 AM near mile marker four. Upon receiving the call, CSPD and Colorado Springs Fire Department personnel immediately responded to the scene.
According to initial reports, the vehicle involved in the crash had veered off the road and rolled multiple times. Fortunately, one of the passengers was able to escape and seek help from a passing motorist. However, upon further investigation, officers discovered that one occupant had tragically lost their life in the accident.

The CSPD's Major Crash Team was called in to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. The following day, on September 3rd, 2025, an autopsy was performed by the El Paso County Coroner's Office on the deceased victim. He was identified as 32-year-old Samuel Marsh.
This unfortunate incident marks the 40th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year alone. Comparatively, at this time last year there were only 37 traffic fatalities recorded. In the past year alone, there have been a total of 52 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs. The CSPD continues to urge drivers to exercise caution and follow all traffic laws to prevent such tragic accidents from occurring in the future.
