Release Number: 2508 ~ Colorado Springs, CO - On the evening of July 3, 2025, a three-vehicle traffic crash occurred at the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Tutt Boulevard. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) was dispatched to the scene at 8:35 PM.
According to CSPD, a white Nissan traveling eastbound on Constitution Avenue attempted to turn left onto Tutt Boulevard when it was struck by a green Toyota heading westbound. The impact caused the Nissan to collide with a third vehicle. Two individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment of moderate injuries.

The CSPD's Major Crash Team is currently investigating the incident. However, on July 18, 2025, they were notified that the driver of the white Nissan had passed away from their injuries at a local hospital. The deceased has been identified as 64-year-old Peter "Pedro" Sanchez after an autopsy was conducted by the El Paso County Coroner's Office on July 21, 2025.
This tragic event marks the 30th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. Surprisingly, this number is identical to last year's tally at this time. In the past 365 days alone, there have been a total of 49 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs.
The CSPD urges all drivers to exercise caution and follow traffic laws to prevent further tragedies on our roads.
