~ Colorado Springs, CO - As the holiday season approaches, the City of Colorado Springs has announced the closure of several administrative and elected offices in observance of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
According to a press release from the city, the following offices will be fully closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1: Mountain Metropolitan Transit administrative offices, City Administration Building, City Clerk's office, City Hall, Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, Deerfield Community Center, Hillside Community Center, Meadows Park Community Center, Westside Community Center, Evergreen Cemetery Offices (with gates open to visitors), Fairview Cemetery Offices (with gates open to visitors), Municipal Court, Parks Recreation & Cultural Services Administrative Building, Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, Sales Tax Office, Sports Office and Therapeutic Recreation Program at Memorial Park and Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center.
In addition to these closures, some city entities will have adjusted operating hours during this time. Pikes Peak - America's Mountain will be closed on Dec. 25 but will be open on Dec. 24 and Jan. 1 from 9 a.m. with last entry at 3 p.m., weather permitting. Visitors are advised to call 719-385-7325 for the most current weather conditions.

Sertich Ice Center will have limited public skate hours on Dec. 24 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., closed on Dec. 25 and open on Dec. 31 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., as well as Jan.1 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m for public skate and from 2:45 p.m.to3:45 p.m for Power Hour Skate.
Skate in the Park at Acacia Park, presented by Academy Bank, will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25 but will have multiple sessions on Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., as well as on Jan.1 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and 7 p.m. to9p.m.
For those looking to hit the golf course during the holidays, Patty Jewett and Valley Hi municipal golf courses will be open at9a.m.on Dec.24and31(weather permitting) with the last tee time at10a.m.for18-holes and noon for9-holes.OnDec.25,the courses will be closed but will reopen at9a.m.on Jan.1(weather permitting).
For dining options during the holidays, Patty Jewett Bar & Grill will be open from8a.m.to2p.m.on Dec.24andfrom8a.m.to10p.m.on Dec.31.Valley Hi Grill & Pub will be open from8a.m.to4p.m.on Dec.24andfrom8a.m.to8p.m.on Dec.31.
To ring in the New Year, the Pikes Peak AdAmAn Club will present a fireworks show from the summit of Pikes Peak - America's Mountain on Tuesday, Dec.31 at9p.m.to commemorate the Frozen Five tradition that began in1922.Then, at midnight on Jan.1,the main fireworks show will light up the sky.
