The City of Colorado Springs Parking Enterprise today launched its new "Now You Know" campaign, highlighting simpler payment options, affordable parking and the investments parking revenue makes to support vibrant business districts in Downtown Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City.
Recent upgrades have made parking more convenient with tap-to-pay and text-to-pay options, the ParkMobile app and modern pay stations that replace select parking meters. The campaign also highlights affordable garage parking and provides clear information about parking rates, time limits and payment options.
"Parking should be one of the easiest parts of visiting downtown," said Alyssa Alt, Parking Enterprise Manager. "Whether you're grabbing lunch, shopping, attending an event or heading to work, we've made paying for parking simpler than ever while continuing to invest every parking dollar back into the parking system and the districts it serves."
The new parking meters offer multiple payment options, allowing customers to choose what works best for them. Drivers can continue paying with coins, credit cards and the ParkMobile app, while new features include tap-to-pay and text-to-pay options that provide additional convenience. Customers using ParkMobile or text-to-pay can also extend their parking session remotely without returning to the meter.

As part of the Parking Enterprise's modernization efforts, the City installed parking kiosks along the primary business corridors of Tejon Street in Downtown Colorado Springs and Colorado Avenue in Old Colorado City. Replacing multiple individual meters with strategically located kiosks creates cleaner, less cluttered sidewalks while preserving convenient access to parking payment options. The additional sidewalk space supports more welcoming streetscapes with room for benches, trees, outdoor amenities and other pedestrian improvements that enhance the experience for residents and visitors.
The campaign also aims to address common misconceptions about paid parking and explain how the Parking Enterprise supports the community.
Unlike many other municipal parking systems, revenue generated through the City of Colorado Springs Parking Enterprise is reinvested directly into parking and mobility improvements. Those investments include replacing parking meters, maintaining parking garages and surface lots, improving accessibility, supporting streetscape enhancements, maintaining sidewalks and landscaping, and increased security measures that improve safety throughout Downtown and Old Colorado City.
"Paid parking is an investment in the places people come to enjoy," Alt said. "It helps us maintain high-quality parking facilities while creating welcoming business districts that are easier to navigate and safer for everyone."

Paid parking also helps create regular turnover of on-street parking spaces, making it easier for customers to find convenient parking near local businesses. That increased turnover supports restaurants, retailers and other businesses by improving access for visitors throughout the day.
Parking Enterprise investments have also helped expand loading zones to improve safety and support deliveries, upgraded parking lots, improved ADA accessibility, add electric vehicle charging stations in City parking garages, and install modern parking kiosks that create more attractive, pedestrian-friendly business districts.
The campaign also highlights the value of City-owned parking garages, which remain among the most affordable in comparable Colorado cities.
City parking garages and lots cost just $1 per hour, with a maximum daily rate of $12 and $6 for vehicles entering after 4 p.m. Parking is also free on Sundays in all City-owned parking garages and lots.
Over the coming months, residents and visitors will see the new branding appear on parking signs, meters, digital communications and social media through the "Now You Know" campaign, featuring quick facts that help customers better understand parking options, payment methods and community investments.
