STATEWIDE ~ As Colorado celebrates its 150th birthday this month, Governor Jared Polis is encouraging all Coloradans to join in on the festivities. The governor is urging residents to take advantage of the various community events, festivals, and local deals that are part of the Celebrate Colorado campaign.
In a statement, Governor Polis emphasized the importance of coming together as neighbors and communities to celebrate what makes Colorado so extraordinary. He also highlighted the state's beautiful mountains, diverse communities, and rich history as reasons for celebration.
Throughout the month of August, there will be a variety of events taking place across the state. In Boulder, residents can participate in the Wheels and Walls - Friday Evening Mural Cruise on August 21. This guided bike ride will showcase the city's vibrant street art scene and offer a 15% discount with promo code Colorado150.

On August 30, Cherry Knolls Park in Centennial will host a grand finale event called "Colorado 150: Celebration of the Centennial State." Attendees can enjoy live music, interactive activities, and a spectacular drone show honoring Colorado's 150th birthday. This event is presented by Arapahoe Libraries.
In Colorado Springs, the Pioneers Museum is hosting a lecture series titled "We The People: Colorado at 150" throughout August. The series will explore different perspectives and experiences of Coloradans in honor of America's 250th anniversary and Colorado's 150th anniversary. On August 29, historian Megan Kate Nelson will discuss "The Westerners: Mythmaking and Belonging on the American Frontier."
The town of Elizabeth is also joining in on the celebrations with their Backyard BBQ Tasting Experience at Running Creek Park on August 29. This event will feature smoky flavors, hometown pride, and community celebration in honor of America's 250th birthday and Colorado's 150th anniversary.

For those looking for an adventurous experience, the Charge Across Colorado - OMG Gold Rush Grind in Idaho Springs on August 15 is the perfect event.
