Colorado Springs: City invites public to open house on long-term annexation planning

Trending...
~ The City of Colorado Springs and Colorado Springs Utilities are set to unveil their draft annexation guidelines, AnnexCOS, at an open house meeting on January 13th. The public is invited to attend the meeting, which will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the City Administration Building in Room 102. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an overview of the draft goals, policies, and annexation suitability zones and gather feedback from attendees.

AnnexCOS is a joint effort by the City and Colorado Springs Utilities to evaluate their approach to annexations in order to promote more fiscally sustainable and resilient land use. These updated guidelines are a requirement under the City's comprehensive plan, PlanCOS, which was adopted in 2019.
