DENVER ~ Denver, CO - Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera made a visit to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's (CDPHE) Mobile Public Health Clinic today before heading to the Denver Rescue Mission's annual Thanksgiving Banquet. These events highlight the Polis-Primavera Administration's dedication to expanding access to healthcare and supporting families during the holiday season.
During her visit, Lt. Governor Primavera toured the Mobile Public Health Clinic, a statewide initiative that brings essential health services directly to communities. The clinic, which visited New Legacy Charter School in Aurora, offers preventive screenings, immunizations, health education, and resource navigation for working families, students, older adults, and underserved neighborhoods. In 2024 alone, the clinic provided over 19,000 vaccines and visited more than 460 community-based organizations, schools, religious centers, shelters, and workplaces.
"Access to preventative healthcare should be available to all Coloradans," stated Lt. Governor Primavera. "This mobile clinic is a prime example of how we can bring services directly to communities and ensure that everyone has access to necessary care. As we enter flu season and continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, now is an ideal time for Coloradans to get their flu shot and COVID vaccine to protect themselves and their loved ones during the holiday season."

Later in the afternoon, Lt. Governor Primavera joined volunteers and staff at the Denver Rescue Mission's Thanksgiving Banquet. The event serves dinner to individuals and families participating in transitional housing and rehabilitation programs at The Crossing campus. Approximately 175 people were served at this year's banquet as part of the Mission's longstanding tradition of providing meals, shelter, and support for those experiencing homelessness or economic hardship.
Reflecting on her experience serving meals at the banquet, Lt. Governor Primavera shared her thoughts on Colorado's compassionate community saying,"Serving Thanksgiving meals was a moving reminder of the kindness and empathy that defines our state. The Denver Rescue Mission creates a welcoming environment for those in need, and I am honored to stand alongside the volunteers and staff who show up every day with dignity and compassion. I encourage anyone who is able to lend a hand this year by volunteering, donating, or supporting a local organization that strengthens their community."
The Denver Rescue Mission has been serving the community for over 132 years, offering emergency services, meals, long-term support programs, and community outreach. The annual Thanksgiving Banquet provides families and individuals with a warm holiday meal and a sense of community during a time when everyone should feel included and celebrated.
