~ The City of Colorado Springs is launching a new initiative to honor its strong military community and is calling on local businesses to join in. The Military Welcome program webpage, set to launch in the coming weeks, will serve as a centralized online directory where military personnel can easily find businesses offering discounts and special offers.
This new website aims to provide a valuable resource for the military community while also driving traffic to participating businesses. By showcasing small businesses in Colorado Springs, the program hopes to encourage servicemembers to shop locally and support the city's economy. With over 45,000 active-duty troops representing every branch of the military and over 95,000 veterans and their families residing in Colorado Springs, this initiative has the potential to make a significant impact.

According to Small Business Development Administrator Shakanah Tedder, many businesses already offer military discounts, but this webpage will provide a centralized platform for promoting these offers and reaching a wider audience within the military community. "The website will be a free and easy way to increase visibility and attract new customers," said Tedder. Additionally, by connecting servicemembers with local businesses, the program hopes to foster community-building and create a network of support and unity within the city.
Businesses that enroll in the Military Welcome program will receive an email confirmation and display decal, showcasing their commitment to honoring the military community. Interested local businesses can register by completing an enrollment form on ColoradoSprings.gov/MilitaryWelcome.
This initiative not only benefits local businesses but also serves as a way for the City of Colorado Springs to show its appreciation for those who have served or are currently serving in the military. With its launch just around the corner, it is expected that this program will have a positive impact on both the business community and military members in Colorado Springs.
