DENVER ~ Denver, CO - In a joint effort between Governor Polis and the Office of Economic Development and International Trade's Colorado Creative Industries, local artists are being given the opportunity to showcase their work on the Colorado 150th Pedestrian Walkway. Submissions for this project are now open and must be received by April 1st, 2025.
Governor Polis expressed his excitement for this project, stating, "What better way to highlight Colorado artists and our communities than with a walkable art experience that showcases our state's history and future. This initiative not only promotes pedestrian safety and walkability but also creates an exceptional experience for Coloradans and visitors alike."
The Colorado 150 Pedestrian Walkway is a collaboration between the public and private sectors, led by the Governor's Office and the P3 Office at the Colorado Department of Personnel & Administration in partnership with History Colorado. The project aims to serve as a new gateway into revitalized Downtown Denver while telling the story of Colorado's 150 years. It will also bring attention to the Civic Center area, including renovations to Denver Central Library, upgrades to Denver Art Museum, the new Populus hotel, the future 5280 Trail, Civic Center Next 100: Greek Theater + Central Promenade, and the McNichols Building.
