Daughter of Man Killed Speaks Up in Book "Finding My Father" Nominated for Global Literary Award
COLUMBUS, Ohio - ColoradoDesk -- "Finding My Father" (11-01-2019) by Marian Poeppelmeyer, has been nominated for the 2020 Author Academy Award, Religious Non-Fiction category, an honor bestowed for literary merit and publishing excellence in the writing and publishing industry. Check out her video at whyfindingmyfather.com
"Finding My Father" delves into the devastation of tragedy, murder, and trauma which our nation faces today.
"From COVID 19 to cities on fire, riots, and shootings, America is being traumatized with an unprecedented intensity of violence," said Poeppelmeyer. "No matter who does the killing, a loved one never returns, and families are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives."

"I know too well, " Poeppelmeyer said. "My father, Marion Hobgood, died before I was born on the first ever plane bombing over US soil – outside Denver, Colorado - UA Flight #629, 65 years ago, November 1, 1955. I never knew him.
"Forty years later, I began a relentless pursuit to know my dad, discovered my real father and learned forgiveness in a way I never expected. Through the eyes of my family and my quest for resolution, I wrote 'Finding My Father' to bring hope and life to many at this turbulent time.
"Last year, the daughter of the pilot [Hall] found me. We both have been looking for more surviving family members or relatives. Our meeting brought great healing to us both, and a sisterhood was forged."
"It is an honor to have been nominated as a Top Ten Finalist in the 2020 Author Academy Award, " said Poeppelmeyer. "If the messages within the pages help anyone who has been broken by any traumatic or violent act, 'Finding My Father' would have done its job."
