DENVER ~ In a recent study conducted by Zearn, an online digital math accelerator tool, it was found that consistent use of the platform led to a positive increase in math achievement scores for students in Colorado. The study, which included over 6,000 students ranging from fourth to eighth grade, was made possible through a grant from the Governors Emergency Education Relief (GEER) fund.
Governor Polis of Colorado celebrated the results of the study, stating that the state is taking an "all-hands-on-deck" approach to boosting student math achievement. He emphasized the importance of providing students with the necessary support and practice to excel in math.
The study looked at a sample of students from key urban and rural districts in Colorado and compared those who consistently used Zearn with matched peers who did not use the platform. It was found that students who used Zearn consistently across all groups saw higher CMAS math achievement scores, with the most significant impacts seen among those with lower levels of math proficiency. The study also highlighted that students who used Zearn three or more times a week saw the greatest impact on their CMAS scores.
