~ The Westside Community Center (WCC) is gearing up for their second annual Community Saleabration Block Party, set to take place on Saturday, June 14 from 8 a.m. to noon. As part of the City's 1,000 Neighborhood Gatherings initiative, this free family event will feature a community-wide yard sale, swap meet, food trucks and live music.
The WCC has been a hub for building a stronger and more connected neighborhood since it began operating under the City of Colorado Springs three years ago in June. Through a public-private partnership, the community center has been able to integrate feedback from residents' recommendations while also receiving staffing and funding from the City. This unique partnership also allows for revenue-generating opportunities through external partners and nonprofit organizations.
