Colorado Springs: Mayor Yemi to present Mayor’s Young Leader Awards to community leaders Wednesday

~ Colorado Springs - On Wednesday, November 6th, Mayor Yemi Mobolade will honor seven individuals for their exceptional contributions to the community at the eleventh annual Mayor's Young Leader Awards. The ceremony will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pinery at the Hill (775 W. Bijou).

Mayor Yemi himself was a recipient of the first award in the Community and Economic Impact category when the program was launched by former mayor Steve Bach in 2015. Since then, a total of 56 members of the community have been recognized across seven categories.

This year's class features 35 finalists from various backgrounds and industries. The program aims to celebrate young professionals under the age of 40 who are making a positive impact in Colorado Springs through their professional and volunteer work. The event will be hosted by Fox21's Chief Meteorologist Matt Meister.

The Mayor's Young Leader Awards is made possible by generous sponsors including Common Spirit Health at Penrose Hospital, GE Johnson, Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center, Southern Colorado Business Forum and Digest, Ting Internet, and Wolf and Key Marketing.
