Colorado Springs: Deceased driver identified from fatal crash on Marksheffel Road

Trending...
~ In the early hours of January 16, 2026, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a report of a vehicle off the road with debris scattered near the intersection of Marksheffel Road and Drennan Road. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered the lifeless body of the driver outside the vehicle, indicating a possible ejection.

The CSPD Major Crash Team (MCT) was immediately called to the scene and took over the investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the vehicle was traveling southbound on Marksheffel Road when it veered off the west side of the road and rolled over at least once, resulting in the driver being ejected. While it is unclear if impairment played a role, speed is believed to have been a contributing factor.
