Colorado Springs: City to observe Thanksgiving holiday Thursday and Friday

~ Colorado Springs, CO - As Thanksgiving approaches, the City of Colorado Springs has announced that all administrative and elected offices and agencies will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 in observance of the holiday.

According to a press release from the city, the following offices will be closed on both Thursday and Friday: Mountain Metropolitan Transit administrative offices, cemetery offices (although gates at Fairview and Evergreen will remain open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.), City Clerk's office, City Hall, Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, Deerfield Hills Community Center, Hillside Community Center, Meadows Park Community Center, Municipal Court, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Administrative Building, Rockledge Ranch Historic Site, Sales Tax Office, Sports and Therapeutic Recreation Program Office in Memorial Park, Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center, and Westside Community Center.

However, some facilities will have different operating hours for Thanksgiving weekend. Pikes Peak- America's Mountain will be closed on Thursday but open on Friday. Patty Jewett Golf Course and Sertich Ice Center will also be closed on Thursday but open on Friday. Valley Hi Golf Course and Grill & Pub will be open on both days.

The calendars can only be picked up at the Parks administration building located at 1401 Recreation Way.
