~ Colorado Springs, CO - The 21st Annual Bighorn Sheep Day is set to take place on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center. This free event, open to both residents and visitors, celebrates Colorado's iconic wildlife and offers a variety of hands-on learning and outdoor experiences for all ages.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., attendees can enjoy wildlife viewing stations, live animal demonstrations, guided nature walks, educational booths, youth crafts, giveaways, and more. This event provides a unique opportunity to learn about Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep and their important role in the region's ecosystem while experiencing one of Colorado Springs' most iconic parks.
"We are thrilled to once again host Bighorn Sheep Day," said Bret Tennis, park administrator at Garden of the Gods Park. "This free event is perfect for nature enthusiasts and offers fun for all ages. It's also a wonderful opportunity to deepen your appreciation for our local wildlife by learning more about the majestic Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep and their role in our ecosystem. We invite everyone to come out and enjoy engaging activities."

Bighorn Sheep Day typically draws between 2,500 and 4,000 attendees each year. The event is organized by a partnership between Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services; Bear Creek Nature Center; Colorado Parks & Wildlife; Friends of Garden of the Gods; Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center and Foundation; the U.S. Forest Service; Nature's Educators; Pikes Peak - America's Mountain; Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Society; and Visit Colorado Springs.
For those planning to attend, additional parking is available at Parking Lot 1 located at the park's main entrance off 30th Street. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to celebrate Colorado's iconic wildlife at Bighorn Sheep Day!
