Colorado: Governor Polis Appoints John G. Scott to the Lake County Court in the 5th Judicial District

DENVER ~ Today, Governor Polis appointed John G. Scott to the Lake County Court in the 5th Judicial District. The vacancy was created by the appointment of the Honorable Jonathan Shamis to the 5th Judicial District Court and is effective immediately.

Mr. Scott has been a Solo Practitioner since 2003, primarily focusing on criminal defense. Prior to this, he held various positions such as Counsel for the U.S. Government military trial courts (2007-2010), Inspector-Instructor at Buckley Air Force Base (2005-2006), Senior Prosecutor for the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force (2004), Attorney with Berger Financial Group, Inc. (2002-2003), Attorney with Meridian Investment Management Corp. (2000-2002), Attorney with Hall & Evans, LLC and Kennedy & Christopher, P.C. (1998-2000), Military Prosecutor for Camp Pendleton (1996-1998) and Deputy Director of Joint Legal Assistance Office (1995-1996). He earned his B.A from University of Colorado in 1987 and his J.D from University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1995.
