~ Colorado Springs, CO - The City of Colorado Springs will be observing a furlough day on Friday, Feb. 13 and Presidents Day on Monday, Feb. 16. As a result, the city's administrative offices will be closed on these dates.
According to city officials, most administrative departments will not be open for regular business during this time. However, emergency services such as the police and fire departments and the 911 call center will continue to operate and respond as usual on both days.
In addition, city enterprises that are self-funded will remain open on Friday. Residents and businesses are advised to plan accordingly for any services that require in-person visits or administrative support.
The closures are part of the city's efforts to manage its budget and reduce expenses. More information about the furlough day closures can be found at ColoradoSprings.gov/FurloughDays.
The following city administrative and elected offices and agencies will be fully closed on both Friday and Monday: City Administration Building, City Clerk, City Hall, Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (although it will be open regular hours on Saturday), Deerfield Hills Community Center, Municipal Court, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Administrative Building, Sales Tax Office, Sports Office at Memorial Park, and Westside Community Center.
