DENVER ~ Denver, CO - Governor Jared Polis recently visited CrossPurpose, a grantee of the Opportunity Now program, to witness the impact of the program's investments in Colorado's workforce. With nearly $90 million distributed to 89 grant recipients across the state, Opportunity Now aims to expand workforce development, create career pathways, and connect Coloradans with in-demand careers.
During his visit to CrossPurpose, Gov. Polis had the opportunity to see firsthand how the organization is utilizing their $1.86 million Opportunity Now grant to support initiatives that equip individuals with professional certifications and pre-apprenticeships. These programs provide access to high-paying jobs in fields such as healthcare, skilled trades, and transportation.
"It's great to see Opportunity Now grants in action helping Coloradans gain new skills to join our state's growing workforce and support our booming economy," said Gov. Polis. "Partners like CrossPurpose are crucial for continuing Colorado's work in investing in workforce opportunities that benefit both individuals and businesses now and in the future."

Gov. Polis' visit comes on the heels of the Opportunity Now Regional Talent Summit held earlier this week in Denver. The summit brought together industry and education leaders focused on connecting Coloradans with good-paying jobs and meeting the needs of employers in the region.
Opportunity Now was established under HB22-1350 and prioritizes key sectors such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and construction to ensure a skilled workforce for Colorado's growing economy. Through its efforts, Opportunity Now is not only creating new career pathways for Coloradans but also strengthening the state's workforce and supporting its economic growth. With continued investments and partnerships, the program aims to provide even more opportunities for individuals to gain the skills and training needed for in-demand careers.
