FORT MYERS, Fla., April 9, 2025 ~ At the upcoming Oncology Nursing Society 50th Annual Congress in Denver, Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, LLC (FCS) will be showcasing their initiatives that are making a positive impact on the quality of cancer care. Eight abstracts authored by FCS nurses, clinicians, and team members have been selected for presentations at this prestigious event, which is the largest worldwide gathering dedicated to oncology nursing.

FCS Vice President of Clinical Services, Danielle Brown, MBA, BSN, RN, OCN, CN-BN expressed her excitement about the record number of accepted presentations from FCS at this year's ONS Congress. She stated that their dedication to providing world-class oncology patient care extends beyond their clinic doors and they are looking forward to sharing their projects and experiences with colleagues to improve the quality of cancer care globally.

The eight abstracts from FCS will cover a range of topics related to high-quality oncology care. These include "Mitigation of Gastrointestinal GI Side Effects Among Patients Receiving NALIRIFOX for Metastatic Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (mPDAC)" by FCS medical oncologist and hematologist Paresh Patel, MD; "Benefits of a Remote Nurse Refill Team" presented by FCS Transitional Care Management Supervisor Kristopher Kramer, LPN and Heather Levy, RN, OCN; and "Expansion of Remote Nurse Triage" by FCS Nurse Manager-Care Coordination Bobbie Sue Crow, RN, OCN and Corinne MacDonald, RN, BSN, OCN.

FCS President & Managing Physician Lucio N. Gordan MD expressed his pride in the innovative efforts of their highly skilled and passionate cancer care team members. He highlighted the nearly 1,000 oncology nurses within their practice who serve as healers, educators, advocates, researchers and change agents. He stated that their daily efforts to improve the quality of life and outcomes for cancer patients and their families are shaping and transforming the future of oncology nursing.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the Oncology Nursing Forum following the event. The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) is a professional association representing 100,000 nurses and is home to over 35,000 members. ONS is dedicated to advancing excellence in oncology nursing and promoting quality cancer care.
