The generous donation was announced during the Parks Advisory Board meeting on Thursday and will be used to fund various projects and activities aimed at enhancing the visitor experience and preserving the natural beauty of Garden of the Gods Park.
According to Britt Haley, Director of PRCS, the department is extremely grateful for the continuous support and contributions from the Garden of the Gods Foundation. The contribution will be used to support several key projects in 2025, including stormwater protection measures, maintaining ecological integrity, and fire mitigation efforts to enhance visitor and park safety. Additionally, a new vehicle for park rangers will be acquired to improve management and service for park visitors. The funding will also go towards installing trail wayfinding signage, conducting bird and bat studies to monitor local species, and supporting tribal consultations to engage indigenous voices in land stewardship.
