~ Evergreen Cemetery to Host Volunteer Cleaning and Repair Workday as Part of National Tour

On Saturday, July 13, Evergreen Cemetery will be hosting a volunteer cleaning and repair workday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is sponsored by national non-profit organization Atlas Preservation, which has chosen Evergreen as one of the 56 locations for their 48 State Tour. The public is invited to attend and participate in this important event.

The objective of the 48 State Tour is to spread information and techniques for safely cleaning and repairing cemeteries in need across the country through Gravestone Preservation Workshops. This free workshop, open to the public, will provide attendees with practical hands-on techniques for properly cleaning and repairing gravestones that are in disrepair.

Cheryl Godbout, Cemetery Administrator for the City of Colorado Springs, expressed her gratitude for Evergreen Cemetery being chosen as one of the locations on the 48 State Tour by Atlas Preservation. She emphasized the importance of honoring and preserving the memories of those who have passed, stating that this event will help achieve that goal. Godbout also commended Atlas Preservation for their dedication and expertise in this important work and looks forward to their positive impact on this historic cemetery in the heart of Colorado Springs.
