~ Colorado Springs Police Department Seeks Public's Help in Identifying Person of Interest in Homicide Investigation

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is reaching out to the community for assistance in identifying a person of interest connected to the ongoing homicide investigation of 60-year-old Dwayne Easterling. CSPD detectives have worked closely with a forensic sketch artist to develop a composite sketch of the individual, which they hope will lead to valuable information from the public.

According to reports, on July 31, 2024, at approximately 6:23 p.m., officers responded to an assault in progress in the 4400 block of East Fountain Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered that a male had been assaulted by unknown individuals who also stole items from him. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital due to his injuries.

Sadly, on August 14, 2024, the male passed away from his injuries and was identified as Dwayne Easterling after an autopsy conducted by the El Paso County Coroner's Office on August 15. While the cause and manner of death are yet to be determined by the Coroner's Office, this case is being investigated as a homicide. A photo of Mr. Easterling has been provided by his family.
