DENVER ~ In a tragic turn of events, Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were killed in what appears to be a politically motivated attack this morning. The couple was targeted along with Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, who narrowly escaped an assassination attempt.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis expressed his condolences and solidarity with the state of Minnesota in the wake of these senseless acts of violence. He stated that Colorado stands with Minnesota and offered his deepest sympathies to those affected by the attacks.
