DENVER ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Polis has appointed Donald P. Delaney to serve as a judge in the Larimer County Court of the 8th Judicial District. This appointment comes as a result of Senate Bill 25-024 and will officially take effect on July 1, 2026.
Mr. Delaney brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as a Magistrate in the same district since 2025. In this position, he has primarily handled cases involving juvenile matters. Prior to that, he held various positions including Managing Partner at the Delaney Law Firm, PLLC from 2018 to 2025 and again from 2010 to 2012; Managing Partner at Diamond Global Partners, LLC from 2012 to 2018; Senior Associate at Labaton Sucharow, LLP from 2006 to 2010; Assistant Attorney General at the New York State Attorney General's Office from 2004 to 2006; Public Defender at the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, NY from 2003 to 2004; and Associate at Mayer Brown, LLP from 2001 to 2003.

Mr. Delaney's impressive educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University in 1996 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2001. With his extensive legal experience and qualifications, Mr. Delaney is well-equipped to serve as a judge in Larimer County Court and uphold justice in the community.
