DENVER - Today, Governor Polis announced updates to his cabinet.
Rick Garcia will be transitioning from Executive Director of the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) beginning in January.
"I want to thank Rick for his commitment to the people of Colorado and for his service to our great state. From supporting our housing goals to ensure there is a home for every Colorado budget to helping small businesses and local communities thrive, Rick has been a strong leader in our administration and has helped ensure Colorado can continue to thrive today and into the future," said Governor Jared Polis.
"It's been an honor and privilege to serve Governor Polis during my DOLA tenure. It's been a remarkable period of policy accomplishments and I am proud to add this time to my long public service track record," said Executive Director Rick Garcia.

Upon retiring from state service, Rick is looking forward to adding more family time and pursuing his next public service endeavor.
Rick Garcia served as President Obama's appointee as U.S. HUD regional administrator, was a two-term elected City and County of Denver Councilmember, and served as Colorado SBDC State Director in Governor Roy Romer's Administration.
The Polis administration plans to conduct an extensive search for DOLA's new Executive Director. To apply for the Director position please follow this link.

The administration is also in the process of hiring the Chief Information Officer and Executive Director of the Office of Information (OIT) and Governor Polis previously thanked Tony Neal-Graves for his service to Colorado. The administration has received a number of applicants from qualified candidates and is still accepting applications for the role until midnight on September 14.
