LITTLETON ~ LITTLETON - Governor Jared Polis made a special visit to Chatfield State Park today to celebrate its victory as the winner of Colorado's State Park Bracket. After weeks of voting by Coloradans, Chatfield State Park emerged as the top choice among the state's 42 parks.
Governor Polis initiated the bracket as a way to showcase and celebrate Colorado's diverse and beautiful state parks. The final round came down to Golden Gate Canyon State Park and Chatfield State Park, with Chatfield ultimately winning by a narrow margin.
During his visit, Governor Polis expressed his excitement about Chatfield's win and highlighted the park's many offerings, including biking, camping, and boating on the reservoir. He stated, "Whether you're riding your bike, camping, or boating across the reservoir, Chatfield State Park has it all. I am excited to be here today to announce Chatfield as Colorado's 2025 'March Madness' champion."

In addition to its natural beauty and recreational opportunities, Chatfield State Park also made headlines this past year for launching the first e-bike rental program in collaboration with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Colorado Department of Transportation. Visitors can now rent e-bikes by scanning a QR code at designated stations within the park.
Governor Polis also took this opportunity to remind Coloradans about the Keep Colorado Wild Pass that he signed into law in 2021. This pass reduces the cost of a state parks pass to just $29 and aims to make outdoor recreation more accessible for all. Additionally, those who qualify can sign up for the Centennial State Park Pass for only $14.
As Governor Polis continues his commitment to expanding outdoor recreation opportunities and preserving Colorado's natural beauty for future generations, Chatfield State Park stands as a shining example of what makes this state so special.
