December 2025: Colorado Springs Airport Monthly Traffic Release

~ Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has reported a slight decrease in passenger traffic for the month of December 2025, according to the latest monthly traffic report. The airport saw a total of 202,012 passengers in December, which is a 2.3% decrease compared to the same month in 2024.

Overall, COS saw a total of 2,448,001 passengers in 2025, which is down by 1.0% from the previous year. Despite this slight decline, the airport remains a popular choice for travelers with its convenient location and various amenities.

One of the newest additions to COS is the "Window Seat: Views from the Stratosphere" art gallery. The inaugural reception for this gallery was held on January 29th from 4-6 p.m., giving passengers a chance to admire unique artwork while waiting for their flights.

In addition to art, COS also offers local craft beverages and food at their new Colorado Craft location on the concourse near gates seven and eight. Passengers can also enjoy a warm and stylish retreat at the north end of the concourse seating area near gates nine and ten thanks to the new dual-side fireplace.

For those looking to escape to warmer destinations, Southwest Airlines has announced tickets on sale for their Cancun (CUN) flights starting March 7th with additional dates throughout April. Daily service to Houston (HOU) will also begin on March 5th.

Construction is currently underway at COS with improvements being made to the TSA checkpoint entry and exit ramps. These renovations are expected to be completed by early summer of 2026.

The ElevateCOS Modernization project is also making progress with terrazzo flooring now complete throughout the concourse and renovations finished for gate one and three holdrooms. The meet and greet area is currently undergoing renovations as well with plans to launch an advanced technology "Exit Lane Breach Control" system in late February 2026.

Allegiant Air has also announced new twice-weekly service to Phoenix/Mesa (AZA), Santa Ana/Orange County (SNA), and St. Petersburg/Tampa (PIE). American Airlines will offer five daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) with connections to various destinations, as well as daily service to Chicago O'Hare (ORD).

Delta Air Lines will provide twice-daily service to Atlanta (ATL) and Salt Lake City (SLC), with seasonal daily service to Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP) returning from June 7th to September 30th, 2026.

Southwest Airlines continues to be a popular choice for travelers with weekly seasonal service to Cancun, Mexico (CUN) and plans to increase daily service to Houston (HOU) starting March 5th. Passengers can also take advantage of up to three daily flights to Denver (DEN) with easy connections coast-to-coast.

United Airlines offers three daily destinations with easy connections coast-to-coast and worldwide, including 12 daily flights to Denver (DEN). With a variety of airlines and destinations, Colorado Springs Airport remains a top choice for travelers in the region.
