~ The Greenway Trail on the west side of Monument Creek will close for up to four weeks starting Monday, Oct. 12, while crews work on the historic Cache La Poudre/Mesa Road Bridge, according to a project notice.
The closure will allow crews to use a crane to place concrete deck panels and carry out other heavy construction. Barricades will be set up at the Duck Pond north of the bridge and near the pickleball courts to the south.
Southbound trail users can cross the creek at the Uintah Street bridge to reach the trail's eastern leg. Northbound users can cross at the pedestrian bridge near the park's south end. The eastern leg will remain open, with the same short pedestrian detour already in place, the notice said.

Visitors to the pickleball courts and the Horticultural Art Society Demonstration Gardens can enter the park by vehicle via Glen Avenue. Court visitors can park west of the bridge or approach on the trail from the south. A limited portion of the trail near the gardens and other destinations will remain open.
Construction began in April to replace the bridge deck and maintain structural elements on the 90-year-old bridge. The project also includes drainage and lighting improvements and refurbishment of the bridge's Art Deco features. Its stated focus is to improve access and safety.
