Colorado Springs: Manitou Incline Trail hours of operation impacted by upcoming events

~ The City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department has announced that the Manitou Incline Trail will experience several temporary closures throughout the month of September. These closures are due to multiple events scheduled on both the Incline and Barr trails.

On September 11th, the Manitou Incline Trail will be closed from 6-9 a.m. in order to accommodate the 9th annual Firefighter Incline Climb. This event is held in commemoration of 9/11.

Additionally, on September 20th, the Manitou Incline Trail will be closed for the entire day for the Pikes Peak Ascent. This closure is necessary for the safety of participants and spectators.

During this time, the summit of Pikes Peak - America's Mountain will also be closed to highway visitors, including those attending the Pikes Peak Ascent. However, guests can make reservations to drive to the summit after 2 p.m. The North Slope Recreation Area will open at 7:30 a.m.

On September 21st, due to the Pikes Peak Marathon, the Manitou Incline Trail will once again be closed for the entire day. However, this closure will not impact Pikes Peak - America's Mountain.
