DENVER ~ Denver, CO - Governor Jared Polis made a visit to the Rose on Colfax Early Learning Center in Denver today to receive his latest COVID-19 and flu vaccines from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Mobile Public Health Clinic. The governor was accompanied by Dr. Rachel Herlihy, the State Epidemiologist, as he encouraged all Coloradans to protect themselves and their communities through vaccination.
As the fall season approaches and children return to school, Governor Polis emphasized the importance of getting vaccinated to avoid getting sick and reduce the severity of both seasonal flu and COVID-19. "Help yourself and your family members stay healthy through the holidays and beyond," he urged.
To make it easier for Coloradans to access vaccines, the CDPHE has launched a "Find a Vaccine Provider" webpage where individuals can locate low-cost or free vaccines at local public health clinics, primary care offices, and pharmacies across the state.

Dr. Rachel Herlihy echoed Governor Polis' sentiments, stating that getting an annual flu shot and updated COVID-19 vaccine is one of the best ways to protect against serious illness and complications from these viruses. With colder weather approaching and holiday gatherings on the horizon, she stressed the importance of ensuring our protection against these viruses is at its best.
The CDPHE also administers the federal Vaccines for Children program which provides free vaccines to eligible children from birth to 18 years old. Additionally, they offer a limited supply of vaccines to uninsured and underinsured adults through this program.
Governor Polis has been working closely with CDPHE to bridge gaps in access to public health services in Colorado through their Mobile Public Health Clinic Program. These mobile clinics provide low- and no-cost services for people of all ages, including routine vaccines required for school and child care as well as other recommended vaccines like flu and COVID-19.
With flu season approaching amid an ongoing pandemic, Governor Polis and CDPHE are urging all Coloradans to take advantage of the resources available and get vaccinated to protect themselves and their communities.
