DENVER ~ Lockheed Martin plans to expand its Space division operations at existing facilities in Douglas and Jefferson counties, a move Colorado officials say could create up to 1,250 jobs over the next four years.
The company announced the expansion at the Site Selector Feedback Dinner during the 2026 Site Selection Conference on Oct. 8, according to a news release from the governor's office. The positions are expected to include cybersecurity and software engineers, technicians and administrative services roles.
Gov. Jared Polis said the investment would support Colorado's aerospace industry and economy. Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera said the state's education and workforce development efforts help connect the aerospace sector with career opportunities.
Lockheed Martin Space Vice President of Strategy and Business Development Kate Watts said the company's growth reflects Colorado's aerospace ecosystem. The company said the expansion will support its ability to deliver solutions for customers and contribute to local investment and job creation.
