DENVER ~ In a show of solidarity with the Iranian people, Governor Jared Polis has released a statement in support of their ongoing protests for freedom against their oppressive government. The governor expressed his pride in standing with the brave Iranians who are risking their lives to fight for a brighter future for their country.
Despite facing threats of violence and suppression from their own government, the people of Iran have come together in a united front to demand change. Tragically, hundreds have already lost their lives in this struggle for freedom, but Governor Polis believes that their memory and sacrifice will inspire others to continue the fight.

The governor also condemned the heinous actions of the theocratic authoritarian regime, which has long targeted women and LGBTQ individuals, creating a culture of fear in Iran. He emphasized that people around the world are standing in support of this movement towards freedom, and he is proud to be one of them.
