DENVER ~ Denver, CO - In a statement released today, Governor Jared Polis announced that flags will be lowered to half staff in honor of the passing of Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell. The Governor has ordered that flags be flown at half staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of the service, which has yet to be announced.
Senator Nighthorse Campbell's passing has left many saddened, including Governor Polis who expressed his condolences in a statement. "I was sad to hear of the passing of Senator Nighthorse Campbell," said Governor Polis. "From being an Olympic athlete, to jewelry designer, horse trainer and then public servant at the state and federal level, he lived many different lives in his own unique way and always found a way to give back and serve."
