DENVER ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Jared Polis of Colorado revealed changes within the Governor's Office Legislative Affairs team. This transition comes after David Oppenheim's promotion to Chief of Staff. As a result, Allie Kimmel has been appointed as the new Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Legislative Affairs, while Eleni Angelides will take on the role of Legislative Director. Additionally, Jamie Short and Casey Badmington have been named as Deputy Legislative Directors.
Governor Polis expressed his gratitude for the experience, leadership, and knowledge that Kimmel, Angelides, Short, and Badmington bring to his team. He believes that their dedication and hard work will continue to deliver real results on issues that are important to the people of Colorado.
Kimmel has previously held positions such as Director of Legislative Affairs, Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs, and Senior Policy Advisor on Education in the Governor's Office. Similarly, Angelides has served as Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs, Senior Advisor on Housing, Legislative Advisor on Economic Recovery, and Deputy Director of Scheduling.

In addition to these changes in personnel, the Governor's Office also announced the launch of a paid internship program. This program aims to provide opportunities for students who may face financial barriers to interning in government offices. The internship program will mirror available federal internships and will offer positions three times a year in various teams within the Governor's Office.
The paid internships will be available mainly in the Executive Operations team working in Constituent Services and the Governor's Correspondence team. Each cycle will have at least four paid internship spots with a rate of $18 per hour.
